This talk by a leading expert on Contemporary Chinese Art and 'chinoiserie' will demonstrate how China transformed its great art legacy to accommodate contemporary society and values while critically responding to Western influences. During this transition, forms and means of art expanded and dynamically corresponded with modern cultural contexts. Artistic and textual languages evolved and enriched.
