Noise Peddler Album Launch
Thursday 28 November 19:00 until 21:00
Brighton & Hove : The Rose Hill, Brighton, Rose Hill Terrace, Brighton and Hove, Brighton BN1 4JL
Speaker: Performance: Danny Bright & Lee Westwood
We are proud to present the debut eponymous album by Noise Peddler, the ground-breaking collaboration betweeen composer/researchers and Music faculty, Lee Westwood and Danny Bright. You are warmly invited to the album launch and performance on 28.11.24 at The Rose Hill, Brighton.
Noise Peddler are a symmetrical duo of no-input pedalboards, walking the line between composition and improvisation, experimental noise and melodic hooks. Their music explores the possibilities of a performance where pedals are the signal generator, processor and sole interface. This exciting, deep-cut 8 track album ranges from ‘Jansky's' glitchy space static, through the sawing synth-like harmonies and melodic solos of ’Soft Stepper’ to the hard hitting Ragga beats of ‘Screaming Death’. Noise Peddler’s music is unconventional, deeply creative and utterly irresistible.
The album and associated performances are the culmination of years of creative practice research developing, adapting and performing with no-input pedalboard performance systems to be able to create structured, synchronised and repeatable music. Come and see the duo recreate a selection of these compositions in live performance at the album launch event at The Rose Hill. Support will be provided by Music BA alumnus, Mina-Mae Alexander.
