Module Outline

This module builds on work covered in the Autumn term, and here you will learn how to present and interpret data through the use of charts and graphs, as well as developing your skills in working with simple summary statistics.

There will be a strong emphasis on practical applications to "real-world" issues, for example through looking at economic, business and finance data and applying ideas such as discount rates to investment decisions. The skills developed in this module will also be transferable for use in other disciplines outside business and the social sciences as well as in everyday life.

Construct, interpret and extract information from graphs

Calculate simple summary statistics with accuracy

Appreciate the uncertainty inherent in statistical data

Present statistical information, including the associated uncertainty, in a clear and coherent manner
