Module Outline

Social Psychology will take students on a journey from looking at the psychology of the self to looking at the psychology of behaviour in groups and ultimately to leadership. The module will enable students to develop a critical approach to theories and empirical data and will give students the opportunity to conduct their own piece of research in the process. Topics covered include, among others, the psychology of interpersonal attraction, the psychology of persuasion and anti-social behaviour.

Module learning outcomes

Demonstrate knowledge of key issues in social psychology.

Communicate critical and theoretical ideas pertaining to Social Psychology clearly, within the framework of academic writing conventions appropriate to foundation year study

Demonstrate an understanding of research methods and statistical analysis used in the study of Social Psychology.
