Biography

Rorden Wilkinson is Professor of Global Political Economy and Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Innovation, and a fellow of the .  He was previously Chair of the Department of International Relations and Deputy Head of the School of Global Studies.  Before joining Sussex in 2014 he was Professor of International Political Economy and Research Director of the Brooks World Poverty Institute at the , where he was based for 17 years.  He has held visiting positions at, among other institutions, the , the , and the .  
 
He is an international political economist specialising in international trade (especially the World Trade Organization), global governance, development, 'emerging' powers, least developed countries and small island states.  His most recent books include (with Thomas G. Weiss)  (Polity, 2019), (edited with Thomas G. Weiss)  (Routledge, second edition 2018) and (edited with Synne L. Dyvik and Jan Selby)  (Routledge, 2017).  He co-edits, with Thomas G. Weiss, the  series for Routledge.
 
He has served as a Vice President of the .  He is a member of the editorial board of the international public policy journal a Fellow of the and of the , and the 2014 recipient of the  Society for Women in International Political Economy (SWIPE) .  He was awarded the Johan Skytte International Manuscript Workshop Award for his 2014 book .  He serves and has served as an expert member on a number of high-level panels including the , the , and the .
