Matilda Jaynes Tyler, a teacher and a recognised authority on Rudyard Kipling, built up a rare collection of his works at her home in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1988 she donated copies of some of the press-cuttings, correspondence and notes in her collection to the AVÊÓƵ. She bequeathed her collection of books to the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Yale University, USA.
