David is currently investigating the leadership characteristics of those involved in the management of 'Big Science' projects as part of his PhD. This involves conducting archival and interview fieldwork at the relevant facilities and taking into account local and global factors that will serve to inform how project management was conducted during a particular project.
Additionally David is also interested in technological project management. Given the many links between academia and technology companies David is interested in the similarities in organizational culture between the two and how innovation can produced in very small idea-focussed communities as well as what has come to be considered the traditional methodologies.
