Research

My research is focussed on the identification of biologically active chemicals which include chemical contaminants which impact animal health or chemical signals which alter animal behaviour.

Current projects include:

  • Identification of biomarkers of endocrine disruption in humans and wildlife using metabolomic analyses; identifying biomarkers of contaminant exposure in aquatic organisms.
  • Fate and behaviour of organic micropollutants such as endocrine disrupting agents and pharmaceutical substances in aquatic environments and biota.
  • Identification of receptor active contaminants in the environment and human tissues using bioassay-directed fractionation and mass spectrometry.
  • Metabolomic investigations of plant responses to non-pathogenic fingiusing mass spectrometry profiling of changes in the plant metabolome
