Sussex has long enjoyed being a popular destination for Canadian students.
We have around 187 Canadian students currently studying at the University. Many study a Law LLB degree run in association with Wilfrid Laurier University.

Clubs and societies
Canadian Student Law Society
The popular Canadian Student Law society, with over 60 members, acts as a home away from home for Canadian students studying at Sussex. They organise a range of events throughout the year, including:
- visits around the UK and to France
- mooting competitions and social events
- sessions on exam preparation and accreditation
- events to help you build your legal networks.
Other societies
Choose from more than and Brighton, including:

Study Law at Sussex
Join more than 100 Canadian students studying at one of the most successful and vibrant law schools in the UK – and take part in our events.
Our three-year LLB Law courses and two-year Law Graduate Entry LLB course are recognised for professional purposes by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board in the UK.
As part of our law courses, you can study an optional module in Canadian Constitutional Law and we plan to add more Canada-specific course content in the future.
The Federation of Law Societies National Committee on Accreditation for Canada (NCA) regulates access to the legal profession from lawyers who have taken law degrees outside Canada.
The NCA recognises both the LLB Law degrees at Sussex. However, you need to achieve at least a 2:2 degree result and take Canadian Law exams in Canada.
